Prepare Ahead of Time - Gather Important Survival Knowledge & Skills

To gather important survival knowledge before a grid-down or SHTF (Sh*t Hits The Fan) scenario, follow these steps:

  1. Read Survival Books: Collect reliable resources on topics like bushcraft, homesteading, first aid, and self-defense (e.g., "SAS Survival Handbook" by John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman). Make sure to have hard copies in case electronics fail.

  2. Take Classes: Learn essential skills such as hunting, fishing, water purification, foraging, gardening, first aid, food preservation, and medical emergency response.

  3. Stockpile Books & Manuals: Have printed (hard copy) guides on food preservation, generator usage, DIY repairs, survival books, etc.

  4. Join Forums & Groups: Engage with survival communities online to learn techniques and tips, and learn practical advice from experienced preppers.

  5. Practice Off-Grid Skills: Practice without relying on modern technology to ensure your preparedness. Try off-grid living tactics like growing food or building shelters to enhance preparedness.

  6. Backup Important Data/Digitize: Download essential eBooks, PDFs, and survival videos on offline devices like USB drives or hard drives. Store survival guides on USB drives and download PDFs for offline use which you could potentially access using a device that can be charged with a small solar charger (check out our collection of affordable solar chargers). The best preparedness is of course to print the data and have back up hard copies of everything.

FINAL TIP: There is a plethora of knowledge out there. It can get overwhelming when you are just starting off. Don't get discouraged or disheartened. Prepping is a lifelong journey. These essential skills you will learn on the journey you can pass down to your children, and create a collection for them. It can become a very gratifying and meaningful hobby, where you can feel like you are contributing to your family unit in a significant way. Much of our survival skills have been lost through the generations, and you can be the one to revive the spirit of survival and make our ancestors proud. Technology has disadvantaged us in the sense that we rely so heavily on technology instead of our memories to survive. But we also are advantaged in the sense that we have all the cumulative knowledge of humanity given to us for free on the World Wide Web. We as a collective need to learn to harness technology to serve us and empower us in the highest, and not let it render us powerless. Stay focused, stay informed and stay ahead of the curve my fellow preppers!

Yours truly,

Spiritual Prepper
